PEAF Holds Policy Evaluation Forum May 14 in Uyo

Uyo is set to host the Policy Evaluation and Advocacy Forum (PEAF) 2026 on May 14 bringing together government officials, corporate executives, academics, and development stakeholders to explore tourism as a strategic alternative to Nigeria’s oil-dependent economy.

The summit, organised by the Institute of Corporate Leadership and Mentorship in partnership with Appleton Private University and the International Federation of Private Universities, will examine policies and investment opportunities capable of repositioning Nigeria’s tourism sector for sustainable economic growth.

With the theme, “Beyond Oil: Redefining the Future of Nigeria’s Tourism Industry,” the forum is expected to highlight the role of tourism in job creation, cultural promotion, infrastructure development, foreign investment attraction, and economic diversification.
Stakeholders are also expected to discuss strategies for improving Nigeria’s tourism ecosystem through stronger public-private partnerships, policy reforms, innovation, hospitality development, and enhanced security among others is Dr Saviour Ekpe a seasoned academic cum media professional.

The event further reinforces Akwa Ibom State’s growing reputation as a destination for major conferences, investment dialogues, and tourism-driven economic initiatives.
