Governor Umo Eno’s establishment of the ARISE ICT Hub in Uyo marks a significant step in Akwa Ibom’s drive toward digital development and youth empowerment.
Located at No. 8 Etuk Street, the facility serves as a centre for free Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training, translating into practical skills for young people. With modern infrastructure, comprehensive training and access to essential tools such as laptops, the hub equips participants with competencies in coding, digital marketing, software development and emerging technologies.
The hub has already recorded measurable impact, with 135 participants graduating from its first intensive programme in early 2026. These trainees completed hands-on courses designed to meet current global demands, including areas such as cybersecurity, innovation and digital services.
The programme, initiated with support from Ambassador Sunday Usikhifo, Personal Assistant to the Governor on Volunteer Services, demonstrates a coordinated effort to build a skilled and adaptable workforce. Plans to extend similar hubs across all 31 Local Government Areas further reinforce the goal of expanding access to digital opportunities.
